Warehouse Operations

A workflow for receiving, storing, picking and dispatching goods inside a warehouse.

Receiving, picking and packing are separate tasks that need coordination even when the stock quantity is correct. A warehouse workflow gives supervisors and floor staff a view of that work. It is useful when order fulfilment depends on verbal instructions or untracked paper lists.

02

What it manages

The system can manage receiving tasks, storage positions, pick lists, packing status and dispatch confirmation. It concentrates on the movement of work through the warehouse. Inventory management supplies stock quantities; warehouse operations adds the tasks and checks that explain how goods are handled.

03

How it works in a business

Incoming goods are checked and put into assigned storage positions. An order creates a pick list, staff confirm picked quantities and packing checks resolve differences. Dispatch confirmation closes the warehouse task and passes the shipment information to the order or delivery record.

04

What SFn can customise

SFn can model storage positions, picking rules and verification steps. Barcode devices, inventory records and order systems may be connected. Partial picks, damaged goods and returned stock need explicit handling so task completion does not hide quantity differences.
