Barcode Stock Control

A stock workflow that uses scans to identify items and record movement with fewer manual item-code entries.

Scanning can simplify identification when staff handle many similar items or long product codes. The software gives each scan a defined stock action, with checks before quantities change. It suits receiving, stock counts or issuing workflows where manual code entry causes frequent corrections.

What it manages

The system links barcode identifiers to product records and supports agreed receiving, issuing or counting actions. Barcode scanning does not itself guarantee accurate stock: users still need quantity checks, valid locations and a clear action for each scan.

03

How it works in a business

A staff member selects the stock task and scans an item. The system checks its identity and asks for the relevant quantity or location. The completed action creates a movement record; unknown codes or duplicate scans prompt a correction instead of silently changing stock.

04

What SFn can customise

SFn can support the selected scanners, label formats and scan workflows. Inventory connections, count sheets and exception queues can be added. Device compatibility and repeated-scan behaviour should be tested using the actual equipment and labels the business will use.
