Inventory Management

A system for tracking products, quantities and stock movements across the locations a business uses.

Stock needs a record of why quantities changed, not merely a number that staff overwrite. Inventory software gives stores and purchasing teams that movement history. It helps them investigate shortages, plan buying and distinguish stock available at a location from goods still being transferred.

What it manages

Product records can hold item codes, units, suppliers and reorder levels. Movement records explain receipts, sales, transfers and adjustments. Quantity is derived from those movements; staff should not change a balance without recording why the stock changed.

03

How it works in a business

Goods received increase available stock at a location. Sales or issues reduce it, while transfers record movement between locations. Staff investigate count differences through adjustments with reasons. Reorder reports identify low stock using the agreed thresholds and purchasing lead times.

04

What SFn can customise

SFn can configure units, locations, batch references and reorder rules. Purchasing, barcode and commerce connections can reduce repeated entry. Opening balances, returns, negative-stock rules and concurrent updates need validation before live stock decisions rely on the system.
