Staff Scheduling

A schedule for assigning available staff to appointments or operational work.

Assigning a person to work requires a view of availability, location and the skills the task needs. Coordinators use staff scheduling to make that match. It is useful when several appointment or job queues compete for the same people and assignments are managed separately.

02

What it manages

The system can hold staff availability, skills, locations and assignments. It focuses on matching people to work, whereas resource booking manages rooms or equipment and a roster establishes recurring shifts. Shared availability helps prevent assignments that appear possible in one tool but conflict in another.

03

How it works in a business

A coordinator reviews the work needing cover and selects a suitably available staff member. The assignment updates the schedule and notifies the person where agreed. A changed appointment or absence returns the affected work for reassignment rather than leaving it silently uncovered.

04

What SFn can customise

SFn can configure skill matching, location rules and scheduling permissions. Booking, roster or field-dispatch systems may share data where interfaces permit. Working-time constraints and absence handling must follow the policies supplied by the business.
